ABOUT

As a Licensed Clinical Social worker, I have been working as a psychotherapist since graduating from Rutgers University.  I then studied at Seleni Institute in NYC gaining a post-grad specialization in women's maternal and reproductive mental health.   I also obtained further training in Eye Movement Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and am EMDRIA certified.  More recently, I pursued further education at the Los Angeles Institute of Psychoanalytic Studies (LAISPS) where I completed a year-long training in Psychoanalysis and another year-long training in Eating Disorders and Addiction.

My practice is grounded in the transformative power of therapy. I’m here to help you identify long-standing patterns of thinking, behaving, and feeling that may be keeping you stuck, experiencing anxiety and sadness, or feeling overwhelmed. Through increased insight and awareness, it becomes possible to challenge the narratives and behaviors that are no longer serving you and discover alternate ways of relating to yourself, your feelings, and others.

My style is empathetic, warm, intuitive, and non-judgmental. The role of a therapist is to help empower you to change.  I work collaboratively with clients to determine the best approach and feel the strength of the therapeutic relationship is central to the success of the therapy.  I have worked with a variety of clients of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, and mental health conditions.

My professional and personal journey includes becoming a therapist as a second career and having two children during my training.
